TAKE ACTION
With such a big issue to tackle, it may feel like you can't make an impact. However, change is often brought about in small measures, and your contributions are always a step in the right direction.
Be a Conscious Consumer
About 20% of the world's cotton, along with many other valuable resources, are produced in Xinjiang, China through forced labor. Many large companies purchase cotton from this area because it is cheap and readily available. However, you can decide not to support companies who source from Xinjiang and learn more about which companies are associated with forced labor. Be sure to check out our educational page for more resources on this topic.
Support, Support, Support!
Much of the success of this project has occurred because of support from partners, community members, and fellow concerned activists. Please follow us on social media and support our accounts, as well as other Uyghur activist accounts. Another way to support is by attending events when they occur showing up to support bills in regards to this topic. We are grateful for every single person who has mentored and offered us support and would love for you to be one of them.
Educate and Share
One of the biggest reasons this issue is so close to our hearts is because it is largely underrepresented and many people are unaware of the horrors occurring in Xinjiang, China. The first step in solving any problem is to know the situation, and we feel education is the biggest way to bring about social and cultural change to help the Uyghur people.
